Some one Please reassure me!!!
Question:

Some one Please reassure me!!!
Hi Guys. Heres it is and Im sure youve heard this none before but I need to be reassured.
Okay Im working harder then ever my diet is awesome but I gained 2 pounds . Someone tell me its muscle cause it is so discouraging to see on the scale.
Also my Im taking protein 4 times a day. Is that a bad thing should I reduce?
Thanks!

Answer:

Not enough information to help you.
Forget the scale, get a measuring tape and measure your ass and waist. If those go down, you are losing fat. If they go up, you are gaining fat. No fancy BF test needed.
"Taking protein 4 times a day" tells us nothing. What kind of protein? Shakes? Smoked meat? Lamb? How many grams per serving?
If you want us to help, you have to give us as detailed an account as possible.
If you are on a diet, you should be calorie counting. Period. Otherwise, your weight loss might not happen at all.

Answer:

Do not look to the scale for evidence of fat loss. When I cut I hop on a scale once every month or so. As far as protein goes....do you mean protein shakes? If you do, it is not a problem as long as your overall diet contains a calorie deficit.

Answer:

Sorry here it is
So this my typical day for me. Thanks again for the help
Breakfast- 2scoops of protein with one low fat yogurt and milk (110 cal) one banana and a peach blended in a shake(I know dropped the yogurt and milk and started to add water )
2nd meal -oatmeal
Lunch - 9cereal whole wheat bread with tuna and ill use avocado as a spread and make a sandwich or ill pour a table spoon of olive oil.
4th meal: protein with an All-Bran bar to get my FIbre its about 110 Calories
Supper is usually a cup of whole wheat pasta with tuna. Or an omelet or it can be salmon on the barbecue or chicken breat
After training another shake
|And right before bed I take my last shake

excellent advice right there.
scales are the devil.

Answer:

how many cals is all that?

Answer:

excellent advice right there.
scales are the devil. Why don't people ever seem to want to listen to you when you tell them that? They're so programmed into basing their results solely on what that damn machine says. FAT LOSS should be everybody's goal, not weight loss. I agree with the poster who suggested measuring the butt and waist. All it requires is a tape measure. To the original poster, yes, you're probably just putting on muscle. This is only proof that you need to focus less on what the scale says. The number you end up with when you stand on that thing is just a measurement of how much force gravity exerts on your entire body. A scale tells you what you weigh; ALL of you. Your blood, bones and organs make up that number. There's no way you can diet to get your blood to be lighter. There's no exercise you can do to make your bones lighter. All the cardio in the world won't make your intestines lighter. You probably started off on your mission because you didn't like what you saw in the mirror one day. It happens to all of us. I'm willing to bet that what you saw that had you feeling dissatisfied was FAT. Focus on losing that fat you don't want on you anymore. Your mission will be harder, but the results will last longer. Keep on truckin' and leave the scale alone, or at least use it only once every 6 weeks. Measurements are what you need to keep tabs on. You'll get there, and when you do, post some pix so we can see how well you've done.
Good luck.

Answer:

id say its bout 1300-1500 calories

Answer:

id say its bout 1300-1500 calories A chicken breast, oatmeal, some salmon... about 1300-1500 calories? If you are not acurately tracking your food intake you could be eating more then you think? Just a thought.

Answer:

id say its bout 1300-1500 calories too low. eat more.
your not adding muscle unless your a total beginner.
probably just water weight.
fitday.com
keep track of your cals. you should be eating in the neighborhood of 2000 cals a day.
read boyscouts sticky up top about fatloss.

Answer:

IMO, you are eating too less cals. You are 5'11" ... I think you should take in atleast 1800 cals and up the intensity of your cardio and lifting. Eating less might help you shed fat, but kind'a makes you weak for your cardio and workout. So I think you should up your cals and increase your cardio/HIIT and lifting intensity as well.
And like everyone says, stop looking at the scale. I weigh almost 8 lbs more in the evening than I weigh in the morning. Somedays I weigh 138, somedays 145 ... and so on. Use a BF% to judge if you can (AccuFitness is a good one) ... but like someone said above, if you can't manage that than just take a tape and measure urself.
And if nothing works for you, the mirror should also be a pretty good indicator whether u've lost weight, also take pictures of yourself (same clothes, same position) every week or so.

Thanks! Forget the scale. I would use the scale only once a week on SUNDAYS, in the MORNING. Do not eat, take your piss, don't drink anything, don't brush your teeth, and weigh yourself. Keep it consistent. Weigh yourself on an empty stomach at whatever time on Sunday and keep with it. You should expect to lose. Now if you did gain 2 pounds it might just be water or glycogen weight so don't worry.

Answer:

When I said Slamon Omelet or chicken breast i didnt mean all together lol I mean either or LOL! I understood. A chicken breast can be quite large and oatmeal can be a lot or a little, etc. Only sugessting that if you are not quantifing your portions you really don't know what your caloric intake is and it could swing from week to week. It would be hard for you to gain weight at only 1300-1500 cals. If you are happy with your progress then maybe it doesn't even matter. Good luck.

Answer:

There seems to be a lot of carbs in your diet. Try cutting back on the pasta's and add more steamed green veggies. I'm on a very low carb diet ie: maybe 1-2 fruit servings a day, 2 cups of veggies a day and the fat is melting off. Scales are evil... I'm loosing about 3 lbs a week but i only step on the scale when i do my bf measurements on monday mornings. 2lbs could easily be water weight.
