my first class was yesterday, i loved it, im extremely sore today awesome. u learn much? :)
Let me give you a word of advice. Get used to the bruises, you'll get them a lot. ;)
well he taught about 7 chokes and i only caught on to about 4 of them, but i couldnt get them in open mat, i had no idea how to set up for them, i tried to do wrestling stuff to set up for it and i got choked out really raelly hard, my cheeks felt like they were going to explode

I'd shoot in to try to get the takedown.... *gullitine*.... *shoot*.... *gullitine*.... *shoot*....*gullitine*...
Needless to say I learned pretty quickly after that.
exzactly what happaned to me, during the class when we were practicing guillotine chokes my partner did one but he didnt have it tight enough so my hed slid out, and his Dong is all over my face, needless to say i tapped even tho i wasnt being choked, just having my face pushed into his wang

picking up 4 of 7 chokes on your first day is pretty good
where I go they only go over about 4 things tops with the experienced guys in one session
which 4 where they?
as you broaden your submission arsenal (and don't be in a rush it'll come) setups will be easier
which choke are you getting caught in
are you starting from the feet or the knees
lol i remember my first bjj class... got tapped out abbout 500 times lol
you dont get AS sore after a few weeks of doin it. i hardly get sore the next day but i still get the bruises all over.
my doctor thought my parents were beating me and wanted to speak to them lololololol
my doctor thought my parents were beating me and wanted to speak to them lololololol LMFAO.
why are you getting choked out so hard on your first day? Is everyone there an A**hole, or just the person you were rolling with? I would be pissed if one of my students* did that to a new jack.
** I'm not an instructor.

maybe the op is a spaz and they were putting him in his place? no offense op He referenced a wrestling background - Likely they were providing some "negative reenforcement" to get him out of the habit of giving up his back - good in wrestling, bad in Jiu Jitsu ;)
They taught you 7 chokes on the first day of BJJ? Wow that seems like a lot of information at once. I like going to class and learning 1 move (2 move max) and drilling it like 50x. When you roll, its hard to remember moves that you have not tried more than 40x.
Oh and get used to wangs in your face, BJJ has lots of it.

Fear it.

having someone on your back isn't a panic time
unless your belly is on the mat and your flattened out
maybe the op is a spaz and they were putting him in his place? no offense op Exactly what I was thinking.
Remember to pay close attention whenever your instructor is teaching technique(s). Drill them as much as you can. If your instructor teaches more than 1 technique, choose one and keep trying to submit your opponent when you're rolling with him (Open Mat) That way, you'll get the move down. As for the other moves, just keep them in your head for now..you'll have ample of time to use each technique. Get the main submissions down for now, Armbars, Triangles, RNC, Guillotine, etc etc. Then worry about the harder stuff your instructor teaches you (If he does) later on.
Don't be a spaz, be relaxed when you're rolling. Try to use technique over brute strength; that way you'll save a lot of energy. Have fun. Good luck with your training!
i wasnt being a spaz, im pretty quiet everytime i go there. im a lot better now tha i was my first day i got my first tap like 2 weeks ago, he was pretty new himself but huge, it was a rear naked choke. i also got this guy whos been goig there for like 6 months in a key lock, and another rear naked choke, i think i was just getting choked out a lot cus it was open mat. i got caught in a lot of guillotines and triangles, i can avoid them now though. except triangles, one of the instructors told me just to look up and try to create room to slip out, no luck so far. im having a lot of trouble passing a guard but im getting better at it .
I hate guillotines, I think they are a newbish move, thats just me.
For triangles other than looking up, put your chin in your hand and PUSH hard, or just throw your knee in his taint, its not pleasant.
