I bought a belt. I figure where I am now its a safety factor to not have one. Ill ONLY use it on my max attempts, ALL my training will be beltless so I dont cheat/weaken my core. I bought the Inzer 10mm double prong forever belt.

I bought the Inzer 10mm double prong forever belt. use yer damn belt it doesnt takr much if anything from your core. all the heavy deadlifters and squaters ive met use it from 225 and up (maybe 315 but still) do like 1 set of wheighted crunches or do 1 set of sidebends at the end of your workout and youve more then made up for the belt

I feel that just training sometimes with belt and sometimes without it will let you do well with the belt and not cheat your core. Also, if you relax your core with a good belt like that, you're ribs are going to be in for a world of hurt when they get crushed against the belt (which doesn't give at all). And I only put on a belt after 405 on days that I use the belt.

People get sooooo carried away with things like this. If you're going to compete in it you should train in it. Does that mean you wear it all the time? No. Doing sets of 1-5 reps with 85% and above? Might be a good idea.
Do you honestly think if you add 50 pounds to your belted squat, your muscles that are specific to that lift won't get stronger right along with the added load? They will, and specificity is what you're after.
So, not convinced? Ok, lets say you don't believe my little hypothetical there. No problem, because you are still doing aallllll your submaximal work beltless, giving your core plenty of stimulation, plus, as a powerlifter, I'm sure you are doing some specific core assistance.
